Inspiron 620s, upgrade to 2500K with Intel HD 3000

I just put in an i5-2500K into my Mother-in-law's old Inspiron 620s.  Replaced i3-2120.  Nice performance improvement.  I did have one small hiccup.  The i3-2120 and i5-2500 have the Intel HD 2000 GPU in the chip.  The i5-2500K has the Intel HD 3000 GPU.  Windows 10 did not recognize it.  Went to Device Driver -> Other -> VGA Adapter and did an update driver.  It found an updated HD 3000 and installed.  Although terribly slow, still a faster GPU than the HD 2000.

I had looked initially on the Intel web site but it only had up to Windows 8 drivers.

Try this site for newer drivers. It is the Microsoft Update Catalogue and they have a ton of drivers for Windows 10. The page I posted has Intel 3000 Windows 10 drivers dated 2016. Just make sure you click on the tab marked last updated to get the newest driver listed first. Download the driver and unpack it with Winzip. Then update the driver in Device Manager/Display Adapters and browse to the directory you unpacked it to.

Just curious you aren't using the stock heatsink with that 2500K are you?  The "K" designation means it can be overclocked and because of that Intel no longer includes a heatsink and fan with those.  The dell heatsink/fan that came with the i3 may not be able to handle the added heat produced by that CPU.
