Problems replacing HDD with SSD in Inspiron 3470
Hi
I have being having a nightmare replacing the HDD in my desktop with a SanDisk SSD. The HDD is 1Tb of which only 80Gb is used and the SSD is 240Gb. I need to upgrade the HDD as the performance is woeful ! Using EaseUS Partition Master I cloned the HDD using the option to resize the partitions when it was cloned.
I've unplugged the HDD used the leads to connect the SSD and hit F2 when it boots up to go into the BIOS settings. I've been through the BIOS settings to amend the secure boot enabled to be disabled, advanced boot options to enable legacy, boot sequence to look for legacy first and then finally disabled the PTT security. Under the drives option I can see the SSD so that all looks good.
When I boot the PC backup it just refuses to boot and I get a repair screen displayed. I'm running Windows 10 and don't have the original media as it was pre-installed when I got the desktop. Would I be better looking for a 1Tb NVME SSD or have I missed something along the way ?!

Have you tried Macrium Reflect Free as I find it easier to use that many other clone software. You can find it here and the online support is very good. Also use UEFI and not legacy when cloning and rebooting. This web page has more information.
As far as installation media is concerned, that has not been included with systems since Windows 8 days. You can download the media creation tool from MS here and your system will activate as normal. Using a 1 TB SSD is less bothersome but you should be able to clone to a smaller drive and have it work properly.
