Ram upgrade not working
I installed a Crucial 4GB DDR3L-1600 sodimm on my Dell Inspiron one 2320 as to max out the ram capacity and the system won’t seem to recognize it. Do I need to do something else ? Thanks

Check the new memory and make sure its fully and correctly seated. Maybe "reseat" (remove and plug back in) the new memory. If it still does not recognize the new memory, remove the original Dell memory and install the new one in the slot the Dell was in and try. If it still will not work, that suggests its defective or the incorrect memory module. If the new memory works, install the Dell in the second slot and see if both are working. If the Dell does not work, and assuming you have the correct Crucial memory it would sound like a defective memory slot. One final thing to try, clear the CMOS memory, with it powered down and power supply disconnected, locate the CR2032 coin cell battery and remove it for five minutes. Reinstall the battery, actually if it has never been replaced do it now as its past the 5 year life span. Connect power supply and power on and see if both memory slots are working.
