Upgrade Inspiron 3670 CPU?

Hi all,

Is it possible to upgrade the Inspiron 3670's CPU? I currently have the Core i3-8100 @ 3.6Ghz, but would be nice to move it up to an i5 or i7 is possible - although understand it may not be possible.

@kellingraywilliamson

Original unit has Gimped 290W power supply.
Faster CPU's would require the OPTIONAL power supply because low end cpus are 65W but high end are 95W or more. Cost of new power supply and CPU is likely more than a newer whole computer thats non proprietary.

XPS 8930 would be a better choice IMHO

The internal parts page shows 290w standard with 365w OPTIONAL.

T1M43 365w, Delta
I3 / I5 / I7 are all valid. However 8th and 9th gen cpus were discontinued 4 years ago so finding one may be an issue.

Re: it may not be possible.

it is possible to upgrade to i5-8500 or i7-8700.  no need to get -k cpu as bios does not let you overclock.  no need to upgrade psu if you do not install discrete gaming video card.
