Upgrade Processor

I have an Inspiron 24-3455 with an AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, 2200 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s). I'm trying to run Adobe Premiere Pro which says minimum requirements are Intel® 6thGen or newer CPU – or AMD equivalent with Intel® 7thGen or newer CPU – or AMD equivalent being recommended. So Ryzen 7? Can I upgrade using Intel or do I have to use AMD? If you had a link to a set of instructions that would be really great.

Video editing usually requires a newer high end computer. You have an all in one, not a full desktop computer. The motherboard is more like a laptop board. The cpu is part of the board and cannot be changed. See the board in the service manual-- https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/inspiron-24-3455-aio_service-manual_en-us.pdf

I have a 2016 Dell Inspiron 24 that I recently just yesterday bought a hard drive cuz the computer went kaput. Kept blinking the Dell logo with a black screen. Fixed it. Had to get a new windows but in it won't download bc the processor I have doesn't support it. Now is that cpu in the motherboard or can I replace it?

It would have helped if you started a new post as you would get more comments. But which version of Windows are you trying to install as my hunch is Windows 11. Also what is the exact model number of your system as 24 is a series.

2016 Inspiron 24 may be

Computer model Inspiron 24-3464
Processor
  • 7 th Generation Intel Core i3-7100U
  • 7 th Generation Intel Core i5-7200U
  • Intel Pentium Processor

Cpu is soldered in motherboard

to replace cpu you need to replace the entire mobo.  not worth it in 2022.

also cannot upgrade to 8th gen cpu/mobo (for Windows 11) due to proprietary design of model.  Just download latest Windows 10 and install in new hdd.
