computer doesn't ask for password after waking from sleep

did updates last week, after the updates my computer doesn't ask for the password after it wakes from sleep, and a change in the wallpaper now . The wall paper used to be generic dell , then after I've logged on it would go to my own wallpaper. If I turn the computer off then back on it will ask for the password. Just wondering if it is a security problem down the road? Windows 10 with an Dell  24-3455. with touch screen

Please don't post your private service tags on the public forum. (The admins will erase them soon I'm sure.)

Are you sure the system is in standby mode, and not just running with the screen turned off? Is it sleeping after being left idle, or are you explicitly putting it to sleep from the "Power" selection in the Start menu? Do you notice the behavior changing in those different scenarios?

Unfortunately the power settings are kind of all over the place (Settings app, Control Panel, "advanced" menus) but the behavior you're reporting would be difficult to switch on even if you wanted it. Couple of random questions: What version of Win 10 are you running (e.g. 21H1, run "winver" to check)? Are you logged in with your Microsoft account or a private one? Not sure they're relevant but just in case.
