BIOS update windows 10 home bitlocker issue

Hello,

I own a Inspiron 5577 laptop computer (P57F003) and I recently installed extra ram, using both ram slots on the computer. I noticed that my computer is running slower, and I assumed this meant it needs a BIOS update.

However, this computer has windows 10 home edition installed on it. I cannot access the bitlocker management screen/console because this is windows 10 home edition. How do I disable bitlocker safely? I have to disable bitlocker before updating the BIOS otherwise every time I reboot my pc it will prompt me for a bitlock recovery key which I do not know how to find, and I really don't want to wipe my computer doing this. Do I even need to worry about disabling bitlocker if none of my drives are encrypted? I have seen other windows 10 home users with bitlocker enabled for some reason so I am unsure. Am I good to go ahead with a BIOS update (through Dell) as is?
