Battery life after bios update
Hello to all. A few days ago, after doing diagnostics from the Dell site for my product (Inspiron 17 5000 Series), he proposed me the Urgent Bios update with the "Dell Inspiron 5459/5559/5759 System BIOS" file of 31 May 2019. Immediately after doing this update I started having serious battery problems. Let me explain: before the upgrade the battery lasted more than 80 minutes and a laptop dated like mine. Once the update has been completed, now lasts a maximum of 20 minutes. It seems to be too drastic to drop, from one day to the next, that may be attributable to battery wear.

Yep, very possible. For example fan management can be affected.
Laptop batteries normally last around a year to a year and a half, so, it would appear that your battery may need to be replaced.

Adrian
