CPU at 100C 7577

Question

I just changed the thermal paste and cleaned the Fans and pipes and I think it actually got worse cause before i didn't hit 100c was 90-1-2 max now it goes easily to 100c. I don't know what to do it should be a simple cooling issue but as it turns out that didn't help and it was fine before. it happens when i play newer games obviously but my screen flickers now as if my vsync is not on but either way it's too overheating and I don't know how to fix it. any advice would be appreaciated.

I forgot to mention system is strong definetaly can handle the game, Already played and finished it once without any issues of overheating or anything.

The type of thermal paste and proper preparation/application is important.

I use and recommend "Arctic Silver" thermal paste. I also use a cleaning kit that Arctic sells to clean old thermal paste from the top of the CPU and heat sink and prepare it for applying new thermal paste.

(I have a 5577 which is the i5 CPU version).

So what you're sayin is I should retry with different thermal paste? mine seemed a liltle bit dry at first but then looked normal. I could buy a new one but I just can't believe it didn't help at all in fact maybe it got even worse. if nothing else I did clean a whole bunch of dust from my fans and made sure the pipes are clean. I could order new paste. You think it will make the difference and fix it?

I can't say what all is going on with your system.

Arctic Silver is what most techies on here recommend. In one of my desktop builds it dropped the CPU temp about 5 degrees from the thermal paste that came with an Intel CPU and cooler.

Make sure to clean off all the old paste before applying new. The cleaning kit is worth it as it properly prepares the CPU and heat sink for the new paste.
