Camera showing to get started conect a camera and not working

When i start my Camera app its showing that "to get started Connect a camera" and when i try with other apps they also showing same. I have tried to update the software by device Manager but it is not showing the Camera option and imaging devices is showing code 10 error, so what can i do please help me to solve the problem of my camera.

My laptop is Dell-inspiron 11 3148 windows 8.1
