The specs for an SSD are as follows. However Crucial lists a 2 TB SSD as compatible so a 2.5" 2 TB SSD should be fine. As far as RAM is concerned you can install DDR4 2400 to a maximum of 32 GB. I would stay with Crucial RAM as Dell systems are touchy about which RAM is compatible.

Good day,

My inspiron 5379 i7 Cpu  has a "Toshiba KSG60ZMV256G 256GB M.2 SSD" as a hard drive. I was surprised

Does this device have an M.2 SSD Slot? Can NVME be installed?

Thnks,

That is because at the date of his post the largest that they offered SSD was 512, if you click the CRUCIAL link now it will show up to 2TB for SSD.

You can install the NvME or a standard 7mm SSD it fits into the standard SATA cable end.  The NvME plugs into a NvME to SATA adapter anyway.
