One suggestion:  don't buy the cheapest, most basic HP or you'll find yourself in the same situation all over again.

Chances are the system has an i3 CPU, 4G RAM and a spinning hard drive -- a trifecta for poor performance, but cheap up-front price.  Since you can't do much about the CPU, upgrade to 8G of RAM and a native SSD and the system will perform at least reasonably well under Windows 10.  The added RAM and SSD will cost far less than buying another system.

Now lets talk about your problem

This model comes in 3 different configurations

8th Gen Core I3, I5 and I7 and minimum 4GB RAM  and SATA hard drive

I assume you went for  Core i3 and 4Gb 

which is not supposed to be the fastest option. 

Instead of investing in a new computer. 

Add 4GB RAM and a 2.4 Inch SSD 

The total would be less than 100$ and you should have a Decent working computer. 

You want to switch to a different brand, by all means you can, But please choose 

Minimum I5, 8GB RAM and an SSD
