Dell G3 17 (3799) Plugged in, not charging

How to fix this?

September 15th, 2019 15:00

Hi @Taku.

I'm going to need more information.

How old is your battery? Have you tried a different charger? Have you tried different wall outlets? Is this the original charger that came with the laptop?

Try  unplugging and plugging the adapter in the middle of the cord.

If you could give feedback that would be great thanks!

Bought my laptop last April. Already tried those except for using other power adapter. After restarting/reformatting the windows 10, the power adapter works again. But after the windows update the power adapter is not working again. Probably the issue is on the software? Btw thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

Are you using the original adapter that was shipped with the computer? Is there any damage on the adapter or the charging port?

Update the BIOS and chipset drivers from the link below. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Yes, am using the original adapter that comes with my laptop. There is no visible damage that I can see on either the adapter or the port.

Haven't downloaded the links you provided yet but after draining the battery, the charger works again.
