Dell Inspiron 13 5378 - Power & Volume button
Over the last few months our laptop has become more & more problematic to power on. Then finally my wife pushed the power button a little to much and something let go inside. Upon opening it up; I found that the power switch had become unattached from the ‘power & volume buttons board cable’ (part: 3G1X1). I can find this part in the Dell service manual and on a handful of sites for purchase. My problem is that on top of the button falling off the small power and volume board; the small plastic spring mechanism that connects (and contains) the actual power and volume buttons on the outside on the laptop body to the small inner board also broke. This part is completely removable on my Dell Inspiron 13 5378 but I do not see it available anywhere. Is my only option to replace the whole ‘palm rest’. Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you.
