Dell Inspiron 15 7567 CPU Upgrade

Hi. I am the owner of a, well read the title. But anyway, I just read about Minecraft's new ray tracing feature from NVIDIA. And as you know, this Dell laptop has a NVIDIA 1050 GPU, and that won't support ray tracing. And I read the only way to upgrade the graphics card is to upgrade the processor. My current processor is a Intel 7th Gen Core i5-7300HQ. And I was wondering if there was any way I could switch to a 1070 or 1080. They should be cheaper because of NVIDIA's new RTX series.

Welcome to the Dell Community @AgentLoneStar007

Sorry but your system only came with 2 "Discrete" GPU's.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Changing the CPU would not change the Intel® HD Graphics 630 that is built into the CPU.

You must replace the entire system board - the CPU is soldered to it, and not separately replaceable.

Many (if not most) of the i7 boards will also have discrete video, so if you currently have integrated video, you will also need a new heatsink assembly and very likely, an uprated power supply -- so budget accordingly.

Hello;

I am interested in upgrading the CPU/Processor from an intel core i5 to an intel core i7.  will it change anything as far as speed?  i read graphic cards cannot not be upgrade. i am fine with that.

thank you.
