Dell Inspiron 15 7577 USB Wake Support

So I have an Inspiron 7577 and want to wake it with an Ethernet Adapter by Wake on LAN. The Adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Portable-Ethernet-Supporting-Notebook/dp/B00NOP70EC/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1548420447 It officially supports WoL. I enabled USB Wake Support in the BIOS and followed this guide: https://www.dell.com/support/article/de/de/debsdt1/sln303330/no-wake-on-lan-with-usb-type-c-dock?lang=en I know it's for USB-C but the information should apply the same. But still it won't work.... Waking by mouse-click works btw. Any ideas?

Thank you for your message. This system model does not support Wake on LAN.

Is there an issue with the ethernet port on the system? There is already an inbuilt ethernet port on the left side.

No the ethernet port works fine and though not officially supported lets me wake up my laptop from sleep. Anyway this is not an ideal solution for me, because I have all my accessories connected via USB-Hub, where I also would like to connect my ethernet cable to, so that I don't have to fiddle around with another cable when disconnecting. Fyi the problem is present with and without the hub.

I'm just wondering because the laptop officially supports Wake on USB as does the ethernet adapter.

So why won't it work?
