Dell Inspiron 7306 2in1 - Charges Only After Computer Shutdown
I have recently been having issues with my inspiron 7306 charging. I noticed that the computer only charges if i shutdown and turn back on with the AC adapter/charger plugged in. Computer does not charge or recognize charger if computer is restarted. If the computer is on and i unplug the charger, and plug back in, it will not charge or recognize that the charger is plugged in. I have updated all drivers, firmware, system bios etc. I have also tried changing bios settings (pressing F2 upon startup) for the ac adapter and that has not worked either. I have only had the computer for about a year and is still in really good shape, runs well and has no damages of any kind.
Something that might be worth noting is that since i have owned the computer the USB-C adapter that plugs into the computer has to be flipped the right way for it to charge. If the USB-C adapter is flipped the wrong way the computer will not charge and the light on the USB-C adapter does not light up (not sure why, but kind of annoying).

First thing to try is a new adapter. If that doesn't solve the problem, the USB-C port is bad -- if there's more than one that can take power, try the other one. If that doesn't help, or there is not, replace the system board.

So i bought a new charger and it has the same issue that i explained in my original post. I am not sure why i would have a bad USB-C port or a bad system board because when i plug my docking station into my computer (Amazon.com: Laptop Docking Station Dual Monitor, 9 in 1 USB C Dock with 1000Mbps, 2 HDMI 4K, 100W PD, SD/TF Card Reader, 3 USB, USB C Multiport Adapter for MacBook/Dell/HP/Surface/Lenovo : Electronics) with the power cord run through the docking station i do not have any of the issues i described in my original post. If power is run through my docking station, i can plug and unplug the docking station from my computer without having the issues that i have when i plug the power cords directly into the computer. That being said, i dont see how it could be a hardware issue if everything fuinctions normally when using the docking station.
