Dell Inspiron gaming 7567 won't turn on

The laptop stopped working with blank screen while surfing the internet and never recovered. Switched the laptop off by pressing and holding the power button for a few seconds. Tried to turn the laptop on but the power led switched on for 5 seconds and then went off and the laptop didn't boot. The same time the power led went off after 5 seconds, there's a slight click sound in the internals of the laptop. This happens everytime I try to turn the laptop on. Also the changer cable when plugged into the laptop, works fine indicated by the little LED at the bottom of the laptop which turns on and then off quickly when the battery is 100%, this is happening right now. Being an out of warranty laptop, Tried calling Dell India and without properly listening to the query the representative was eager to order me a new motherboard. So I wasn't sure what to do. Any help is appreciated!
