Dell g3 series 15 3579 RAM Upgrade

Question

I have a Dell g3 15 3579 laptop with the specs of i5 8 gen, GTX 1050 and 4gb RAM and planning on upgrading my laptop but I am having doubts with the ones I'm buying RAM from cuz they keep suggesting expensive ones instead of the products i tried to tell them if its compatible.

This RAM is what I told them and they said that it's not compatible? hmmm i get the feeling of ripoff here:

Hello again, i have another question.

Since im upgrading with the RAM on the link. Does my computer have enough slot for the stock RAM to stay with the new one? (stock 4gb RAM + new 8gb RAM or just 8gb RAM).

Yes it has 2 slots for memory.

Yes it supports 12GB memory.

But if you could afford it 2x8GB = 16GB total would be best.

To take advantage of "Dual Channel" memory you need matching pairs.
