Dell i5575-a214 Ram update

Hello,

One Dell ''laptop_setup-guide'' he wrote : Total memory 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB, 12 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB

My laptop come with 2x4Gb of Ram. And Actually I want to upgrade; but I have two options for same price:

1- Buy 1x16gb RAM DDR4 => Total memory (4+16)= 20Gb : I lost Inbox 1x4gb RAM

2- Buy 2x8Gb RAM DDR => Total memory (8+8)=18gb : I lost Inbox 2x4gb RAM

Option 2 will give you dual channel with 16 GB. The first option will not and is not a certified RAM option. More information on running 2 different sizes of RAM here. It's always better to install a matched pair of RAM for maximum compatibility. And Crucial RAM is the most compatible when it comes to Dell systems. That RAM shown here.
