Dell support Assist will not update to the latest version
HI I went into my Dell SupportAssist yesterday as soon as support Assist started I got a message on the front of the startup screen saying that their was a new version of Dell support Assist. So I pushed the yes button to update to the latest version then when a fast scan happened then the other message said that Dell support Assist new version was all ready installed. So I pushed close.
Then I went back into support assist and again I was presented with the same message as above. So I went to the dell assist site and downloaded the installer and then I went to settings and clicked on apps and then on apps and features I typed in support assist and I uninstalled anything with support assist and then I restarted my laptop again and logged in once again. Then I pushed the support assist installer and let it download the files and install dell support assist again.
Then I reopened the dell support assist again and still I got the same message as above once again. So I restarted my laptop and logged back in and I went to control panel and uninstalled dell support Assist again. Then I double clicked on the dell support assist installer again and let it download the files and install dell support assist again. Then I restarted my dell laptop again. Then I started dell support assist again and still I got the same message as above.
What I would like to now is how can I correct this problem Can you please give me solutions that do not involve using the command line in windows. I am also not comfortable doing anything in the Bios of the laptop.
Thank you very much for your time and your help.

HI thanks for the advice I appreciate it a lot. I should mention that the support Assist application updated later on in the morning for me. The files downloaded and the support Assist installed fully with no problems or issues.
Thanks for your time

Hi,
Totally frustrated with the migration process , everything goes ok until it reaches the linked stage where it keeps telling me that i need to update to the recent version by close and download, which i have done numerous times because the system just diverts me to the dell shop. I have gone through the process of deleting and reinstalling the data assistant numerous times also ..help..

Yep, I'm stuck in the same place. My laptop, Inspiron 5555 will not update the data assistant software. When I click the button to confirm the action, I get a message indicating the page cannot be found and I'm left in a generic driver support search page.
