End of Service Life

I have a Dell Inspiron 11 3168 and I was looking around the Dell website and I typed my service tag in and went to documentation since I was curious and then I went to service events and there were 3 milestones and one of them was End of Service can someone please explain to me what this is about.

End Of Service Life generally means that a system is old and reaching that point where the system will not be supported anymore. But your system certainly does not meet that criteria being less than 2 years old. I would have to see the exact milestone. Are you sure it refers to support on the 3168? It could refer to a certain software that was installed on the system such as security software.

I was just poking around in the support site for my computer and what it is is it has milestones that exist in the future. My End of Service Life is in five years but it lists it.

I know I'm a long way from this but I'm curious: What happens if you have to reinstall Windows or drivers on a computer that has passed "End of Service Life"? Should I make sure to download all available software before EoSL? Just in case?
