Expand RAM on Inspiron 7506

I just wanted to chime in in case anyone comes by this thread in search of answers.  I successfully installed 2x16gb of RAM in this laptop.  When I first booted up, it simply stated the RAM had been changed and prompted me to do a quick system check.  I did and the computer recognizes it and utilizes it just fine.  I think the key is ensuring you’re running Windows 64bit.  Hopefully this helps.

Also wanted to chime in about this. I have a Inspiron 7506 2n1 with 12gb RAM. I seen the specs say 16gb max and I was pretty bummed out. I saw crucial site says other wise. I thought I'd test it out and buy a 16GB stick and if it didnt work I'd just return it.

Will it worked. I had 2 slots, one with 4gb and 8gb I removed the 4gb and replaced it with my new 16gb and started up the computer. I received the message about the system memory has changed and I clicked continue. I logged in and volia I had 24gb of ram working. Much better now, I'm using 11.4gb with 12.3gb available, sweet, I can multitask my normal way now

I also would like to know if there is a hardware limit to the RAM.   Will it work, even if unsupported, if I upgrade to 64gb of RAM?  2x32?

At this time of writing, the Crucial page says they have no "compatible memory upgrades" but Kingston lists two 16GB options:

I successfully replaced the 4GB stick with KCP432SS8/16, with the 8GB stick already there now totalling 24GB.

I just did the exact same thing - replaced the 4GB with a 16GB stick. System booted fine with 24GB of RAM reporting in Task Manager.
Replacing the memory was very easy - just unscrew the screws, pry open the cover (that was the scarriest part) but the memory banks were easy accessible. No need to unplug or move anything out of the way. Existing memory had a sticker on it so easy to find the 4GB one.

Thanks Alex for sharing your successful experience - helped me take the plunge as the Crucial link mentioned earlier is currently reporting that they have no compatible memory in stock.

Kingston had a similar compatibility list with two 16GB options (single and dual rank) and I went with the cheapest (KCP432SS16 DDR4 at 3200 MHz).

I was able to install 2 16 gb of the following chips:

KINGSTON 16GB DDR4-3200MHZ SODIMM
Mfg. Part#: KCP432SS8/16
CDW #: 6168573

Please, can l do two 32megs?..32 on each slot. I have 16megs now and l belived it's 8 megs on each slot

@bsp0164​ I was able to install this module too. I had two 8 gb chips in there and I replaced one of them with these chips so I have 24gb currently now, I am going to get another one and throw it in the otherside.
