G5 SE 5505

Question

I didn't know it came with red backlit keys. My other Dells are white light and I bought this one for my autistic son so I could have mine back. No fix to change it per Dell and no return after 14 days per Best buy. I will have to sell it and buy a different one.

The G5 5505 and G5 5500 are different models.

The AMD-based 5505 has either a red backlight or an RGB color change backlight depending on the specific model -- since this one is red, it's not possible to change the color of the backlight.

The 'fix' would have been to return the system during the 14 days Best Buy allows that.

They need to make it known what color the backlit keys are...I would have gladly paid for the white light keyboard....now I have no choice but to get rid of it since it can't be changed per Dell...

To me the customer.....the fix would have been to specify the back light color in the sales or build description...I have never had a color issue on my other Dells...they all have white light....I also have never used Best buy and wasn't aware of the 14 day return policy...and wasted my time trying to find a fix and writing to Dell...My son will continue to use mine since he wont even look at this one....Autistic children do not take well to change and the red keys just throw him off....gonna go find a different manufacturer and make sure what I get the next time.
