G7 17 7790 RGB Functions Removed with Update & No AlienFX Detected

I have a Dell G7 17 7790 that I just recently got it within the past few days. It came with Alienware Command Center, and using this software i was able to change and customize the lights on the RGB keyboard. This morning I launched the software to change the keyboard colors again, and AWCC said it needed to update. I let it update, but when i went to change the colors afterward, my ability to do so was removed along with what looks like a few other things as well. I hadn't finished exploring the software yet, so i don't know what else is missing. The update removed my ability to change my keyboard color settings, and now its stuck in rainbow. How do I fix this?

EDIT: I also get a message saying that no AlienFX devices are detected, and that some features will be disables until a device is detected. I'm assuming this also disabled the ability to change the RGB keyboard. Why is this a thing? Do I have to buy something just to access the RGB keyboard on the laptop i already bought? What does this mean?why Dell..PNG

Replying to my own comment to post the solution. This is what i did to fix the problem.

1. Uninstall Alienware Command Center (AWCC) and any other Alienare Command Center Related Software. this can be found using Control Panel.example.PNG

Here is a video that explains the process. At the time of this comment, it is the latest one on the subject:
How to Uninstall Alienware Command Center

2. Make sure all windows updates are installed. Do not restart your PC.

3. Find the up to date version of AWCC Software on the Dell Website:
A.  <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

B. <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

If you are unsure if your laptop is supported, there is a drop down list at the bottom of each page Titled "Compatible Systems". Check there to see if your computer is supported. The video linked above also provides an additional place to download the software if you would rather do it that way.

3. Once the Software is Downloaded, restart your PC. Do not install the AWCC software until PC has restarted. This allows any windows updates to install.

4. Once PC has restarted, install the software. From this point you can:
A. Let the software install whatever additional things it may need, like Alienware OC Controls. (This is the route I took).

B. Install The Alienware OC Controls software manually.<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

This is what the people who I talked to via private messages at dell had me do. I hope this helps.

EDIT: I neglected to mention: A. I did get that no AlienFX Detected message again, but I only got it once. it has not since then reappeared.
B. After the AWCC installed the Alienware OC Controls software, it asked to install one final update. I think this is what caused the problem in the first place, as the last time it asked to install that final update is when the software quit working and gave me problems. This time I told it no. If you tell it yes, and it gives you the same problem, repeat the steps above, and once at that point tell it no. If this is an update from Dell, its extremely bugged. From now on if there is an update, personally, i will manually be installing them from the website. I Don't know if that's going to make much of a difference, but  that is what i'm going to do. Also, it would be wise of you to find a version of the software that works and save a copy of that on your PC just to have. This current version i am running works. It is the one in screenshot at the top of this comment.

JannaWhiskers,

I'm sorry the instructions to fix the "No AlienFX Detected" error didn't work for you. The video at the beginning of my instructions is still good, but it is possible that the links to reinstall the software are old and outdated. I don't think that the link automatically updates with the latest version of the software. What device do you have? <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> this will take you to the latest drivers of my laptop (Dell G7 17 7790) at the time of my original comment. There should be a box that says "Get the Latest Driver" with a button that says "enter details" near the top of the page. Click that button. It will bring you to a dialog bot titled "Enter Product Details". Here you will put in the name of your computer. For example, I would put "Dell G7 17 7790". Then click the submit button. This should take you to the latest version of those drivers.

Also, the little rant I put at the end of my post in the edit about only installing the updates manually, don't follow that anymore. I took a chance and trusted the automatic update feature again and it worked. So I have been letting the software update itself automatically, and have had no problems since then. But, I do make sure nothing else is going on during the update for the AAWC software. After you install the software and it offers to update it, accept the offer. Whatever plagued that one particular update seems to have disappeared. If you are going to attempt to fix the software again, be sure you delete everything correctly. Follow the instructions in the YouTube video, and make sure you find the latest version of the software for your particular computer. Unfortunately, this is the only advice I have to offer you, I hope it helps.

Check to see what Keyboard you have. If you bought your G7 7790 and have a FRN/ENG keyboard and your lights are white and a standard backlit keyboard. You will never get the feature to work as ONLY the US English keyboard comes with the RGB keyboard. This was not clear at time of purchase and was very misleading. It took Dell over 3 months to figure this out even after sending it in to their depot. They even replaced my Motherboard and said it was resolved to which it wasn't as it was the same keyboard. They said they could not replace the keyboard as it wasn't a like for like.

I just got a G7 17 today & also was getting mad at this. I went to restore, and reinstalled windows. It worked on first load up after. Only catch is you have to Oof all other files and programs. Just make sure you re-add the parts of alien CC when it boots up. It will restart again and FX will be accessible now.
