G7 7758 No Audio Output Detected after Windows Update
My Dell G7 7758 doesn't have sound after updating windows and dell drivers last night. When I go to device manager, I see that Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED is not working properly. It says there is a "configuration mismatch (production/engineering)" but the sound has been working for over a year until today. I've tried disabling and re-enabling as well as deleting it along with the driver software and re-booting but to no avail. The "Digital Signer" is "Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher" so maybe this is something that you guys can't help with much but I need any help I can get.
Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) Audio Controller is working fine as well as Realtek Audio.

I found the solution on another post from February "Inspiron G5 15-5587, audio not working after update"

Well, here is how I fixed mine.
1. Go to device manager.
2. Locate and rightclick on the sst driver (Next to the one that is marked as not working! IMPORTANT), choose properties.
3.Driver -> Update driver.
4. Browse my computer.
5. Show compatible -> pick "High definition audio controller" (If you can't choose "High def audio controller", you picked the wrong driver to update, see step 2.)
6. OK
Good luck.

You might want to update the Intel IO driver it has a lot to do with windows 10 HID devices
Also, you could try an older sound driver version installing any version Clean uninstall then reinstall.

i have the same problem, maxxaudio pro just crashes every time i try to use it, even the update witch came out on 17 Sep didn't help, only solution i found was disabling maxxaudio pro but it isn't a long term solution(disabling maxxaudio pro ; https://www.dell.com/community/Inspiron/Dell-Inspiron-7577-Windows-10-realtek-sound-driver-issue/td-p/5927018).

I have this exact problem and am not finding a good solution. My sound was working earlier today, then Dell updates ran and I have no sound. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Have you found a solution that works?

I had the exact same problem have spent several days searching for a solution until I stumbled on this:
1. Go to device manager.
2. Locate and rightclick on the sst driver (Next to the one that is marked as not working! IMPORTANT), choose properties.
3.Driver -> Update driver.
4. Browse my computer.
5. Show compatible -> pick "High definition audio controller" (If you can't choose "High def audio controller", you picked the wrong driver to update, see step 2.)
6. OK
A word of advise though, never update WAVES MaxxAudio Pro to the version on Microsoft store. Once you do, it will stop working and your sound quality will go bad. Unfortunately this can't be undone unless you perform a factory reset.
Good luck.
