Help with 2 beep code - Inspiron 17R won't boot even with new MB
Trying to help an older relative. All documentation I can find indicates that for insprion models from 2006-2016, a 2-beep error code is "Memory not detected". In effort to solve I have tried 2 replacement motherboards after testing several different working pull RAM sticks. What else is left?
laptop powers on with fan running but screen remains black and 2-beeps continuous. If I hold fcn and start it to get into diagnostics it just has a continuous beep.

Unplug, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove both memory modules and power up without them. You should hear a 2-beep code. If you don't, the mainboard is bad and will need to be replaced.

thanks. I hear the two beep code with or without memory modules installed in 1 or 2 slots. Memory modules have been tested in another laptop. I have also already replaced 2x new mainboard from reputable seller, 1x new i/o board, but have no way to test these independently. Mainboard part number matches original configuration, so not concerned about wrong part or CPU mismatch.
Still getting fan on and 2 beeps.
