How can I block SmartByte on my laptop 7567?
I removed this stupid program very long ago, but it's install spontaneously twice today and it's broke my all of the speaker sounds. It's my laptop and I don't want this broken stupid thing. How can I block this crappy SmartByte thing?

Do you have the Dell Digital Delivery application installed? That's the only way I can think it might be getting installed without you specifically accepting it. If that's where it's coming from, you should be able to choose not to allow it to be installed. If that's not where it's coming from, I guess look around for any other applications that push software/updates, like Dell Command Update, Dell Update, or Dell SupportAssist.

I have only Dell SupportAssist and it's spontaneously installed again for the third time shortly before  If the same thing happens again, I have to must uninstall SupportAssist I think.

How did you uninstall it? It is an optional install and should not be re-installing. I installed the May 2018 version which did give me the audio problems so I uninstalled it using the Programs and Features setting in the control panel. I have not tried the June version but it was never installed on my system before I did it manually.
I don't normally allow the automatic updates to do the updates but I just installed the independent updater and it is currently checking for updates..
I notice there is a version of the updater which is a plug-in for Support Assist. I did not install that version and I do not have Support Assist running.
I am waiting for the updater to finish it scan. It just finished and says I need the Digital Delivery App, Dell Help and Support and Intel Wi-Fi driver.
I can't let it do the Wi-fi driver since I am running a 9260 which is not mentioned in that driver.
For optional updates, it shows 0 of 0 so it is not trying to re-install SmartByte. I will advise if it changes in the next few hours.

I uninstalled it using the Programs and Features setting in the control panel. I have only Dell SupportAssist, I don't install other tools (Dell Delivery App, Dell Update Tool, etc.). Let's see, it looks like no problem today.

You can disable service SmartByte Network Service:
Please go to Control Panel\ Administration Tools\ Service\ SmartByte Network Service\
Click right mouse at "Automatic", then choose Properties, click: Disable in pop menu
I did so and stopped SmartByte software. Bye

I uninstalled it for a different reason. It slowed down my internet speed by a factor of 10. This program is supposed to prioritize videos over other internet traffic on your PC. But it actually makes damages. Since I uninstalled it did not get installed automatically.

Also, in the pop-up, there are 4 tabs. You can disable it from the General tab. However, just for grins I looked at the other tabs. On the Recovery tab there are instructions for what the computer should do if this program fails for three separate attempts. The default is set to restart the computer. I set it to take no action on all three and to reset the counter after 9,999 days. Hopefully, that will fix the problem I have been having of it constantly restarting or just plain shutting down my computer when I am in the middle of my homework! Thank you for this forum.
