How to clone without turning on laptop/ fix boot error 0xc0000185?

I have a inspiron 5547 . A week before 0xc0000185 happened my laptop ran into a blue screen of death but it fixed itself , hours before the 0xc0000185 couldn't boot the laptop was already very slow and then suddenly the screen went black, a week before that happened my laptop ran into a blue screen of death but it fixed itself .So I shut it down to see the error code 0xc0000185. I got my bootable usb drive and then plugged it in, automatic fixing starup error didn't work. I know I can do boot by usb but I dont want to lose any apps. I saw online that you can save all your files but not your apps which is fine with me. I rebooted 3 time like it said but it won't take me to the "reset computer" area. Now if I unplug the usb and start it, it only says " no boot device". I can't risk anything happening to my laptop! Maybe there's a way you can clone your laptop by taking out the hard drive? Please help, I'm currently using my older laptop which is horrible! I appreciate all your help!

Bear in mind that if the drive won't boot the system, neither will an image or clone of it.

It sounds very likely the drive has media damage -- the odds of imaging the entire drive successfully decrease with the extent of the damage.

If there is data on the drive you cannot afford to lose, use the dock or adapter you asked about in the other thread to do that BEFORE you take any other action.

You also need to realize that the chances you'll be able to image the entire drive at this point successfully are low.
