Hello! I understand that you're experiencing low FPS (frames per second) in games like Counter-Strike and Fortnite on your Dell G15 5510 laptop. While your laptop's specifications should be capable of higher FPS, there could be several reasons for the lower performance. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help improve your gaming experience:

  1. Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the NVIDIA website or use their GeForce Experience software to download and install the latest drivers.

  2. Optimize In-Game Settings: Check the graphics settings within the games themselves. Lowering certain settings, such as shadows, anti-aliasing, or texture quality, can significantly improve FPS without sacrificing too much visual quality.

  3. Disable Background Processes: Close any unnecessary programs running in the background while gaming. This includes browser tabs, streaming software, or other resource-intensive applications that may be consuming system resources.

  4. Power Plan Settings: Make sure your laptop is set to "High Performance" in the power plan settings. This ensures that your system is utilizing its full potential and not limiting performance to conserve power.

  5. Cooling and Thermal Management: Ensure that your laptop's cooling system is functioning properly. Overheating can lead to throttling and reduced performance. Clean any dust from the cooling vents and consider using a laptop cooling pad or elevating the laptop for better airflow.

  6. Check for Background Processes: Make sure there are no unnecessary processes or applications running in the background that could be utilizing system resources. You can use the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) to monitor and close any unnecessary processes.

  7. Scan for Malware: Perform a thorough scan of your system with a reputable antivirus or anti-malware software to check for any potential malware or viruses that could be affecting performance.

  8. Adjust Windows Visual Effects: You can optimize Windows for performance by adjusting visual effects. Right-click on the "Start" button, select "System," then go to "Advanced system settings." Under the "Advanced" tab, click on "Settings" in the Performance section. Choose the "Adjust for best performance" option or manually disable specific visual effects.

  9. Consider RAM Upgrade: While 8GB of RAM should be sufficient for most games, upgrading to 16GB or more may provide a performance boost, especially if you have multiple applications running simultaneously.

If, after trying these steps, you still experience low FPS, it's possible that the games you mentioned may have specific optimization issues or your laptop's hardware may not be able to handle them at higher settings. However, based on your laptop's specifications, you should be able to achieve better performance than what you're currently experiencing.

Well, you may need to upgrade your laptop's hardware. A newer graphics card or more RAM could help improve your FPS.

Here are some additional tips that may help improve your FPS in games:

  • Use a performance mode or setting in your laptop's BIOS. This will typically increase the CPU and GPU clock speeds, which can improve your FPS.
  • Disable any power-saving features in Windows. These features can reduce your CPU and GPU performance, which can lead to low FPS.
  • Use a cooling pad for your laptop. This can help keep your laptop cool and prevent it from overheating.
