Inspiron 13 7737 Content Adaptive Brightness Control

Is there a way to turn off Content Adaptive Brightness Control on a 13 inch Inspiron 7737?  If so, how can it be done?

cslepage,

Click the link below for information on disabling Adaptive control.

Thank you for the response.  However, 1) this solution is for a different issue, and not for Dell's Content Adaptive Brightness Control, and 2) the option of "Adjust my screen brightness automatically" is not available on the Inspiron 13 7737 Display screen.

cslepage,

Try the information below.

LCD brightness constantly changing with Intel Display Power Setting enabled

Leave ''intelligent display'' and everything as default, and just go to Intel HD graphics Control Panel > Power > On Battery > change from ''balanced'' to ''Maximum Performance''.

Thank you!  I've tried it before, but to be on the safe side, I tried it again.  The Content Adaptive Brightness Control still occurs.

Was there ever a fix for this? I have recently purchased an Inspiron 5593 and this "feature" has been driving me insane. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how much this bothered me until after the return period was over. Otherwise, I would have definitely returned this laptop.

Edit:

Dell customer service reached out to me and provided a link to a solution: https://www.dell.com/support/article/en-us/sln311694/brightness-may-dynamically-decrease-on-some-inspiron-and-vostro-notebooks?lang=en

I was able to adjust the brightness and disable the 'Dynamic Backlight Control (DBC)' in the BIOS and this solved my problem.

This five minute fix worked on my inspiron 14 5402, hopefully works on yours as well.

Go into BIOS > Display > Turn off EcoPower

To go to bios, go to:

Settings > Update and Security > Recovery >  Advanced start up restart now > Troubleshoot > Advanced > UEFI

and then > Display > Turn off EcoPower

Make sure you're BIOS is updated first
