Inspiron 15 7577 Purple Vertical Lines on Screen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzRgtmHmsV8&feature=youtu.be In this video, you will see my laptop display purple vertical lines and a bunch of staticky horizontal vertical lines. When I connect HDMI to this laptop and my TV, the display looks normal on TV. What could be causing this staticness? If you need more info, please message me.
(A side note: in late July/Early August, I updated my windows 10 to version 1903 from 1809 or so. Some comments on my YouTube video suggest that version 1903 could be messing up my display. However, the statickyness didn't occur until weeks after I updated to version 1903, though version 1903 caused my laptop to infinitely go to blue screen and restart my computer as soon as I updated to it.)

Welcome to the Dell Community @Japowger
Try a "Flex Test"
While the laptop is booted and the screen is on:
Grab the display at the upper left and right corners.
Then pull one side forward and push the other side backwards about 1/2" to 1"
Repeat back and forth. "Flex Test"
Post back with any result.

unfortunately, you may need to replace the display, this is not a driver issue.

@Japowger
That indicates that the LCD panel/cable is failing.
Some people will try to replace the cable first because it is the cheaper option.
But in most cases it turns out to be the LCD panel.
You can do a search for your "Service Tag" and see if they have the cable and LCD panel listed.
https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-15-7577-laptop/overview
You can then use the Dell part numbers to find replacements.

I just tried this test since I have also been having purple vertical lines on the touchscreen of my Inspiron 5558, but I do not notice any effect. I am also having "ghost" touch issues. Does this indicate I do not need to replace my screen?

@U2CAMEB4ME
I have a similar problem as OP with my 7577. Please see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeI0Nyd56vY
I ran the LCD Built-In-Self-Test (holding the D key when power on) and the different colours display properly with no problems. But then the vertical purple lines appear on the Dell logo boot screen and the fuzzy distortion in my video still persist in Windows.
Does that mean the LCD panel is fine and the problem is definitely the cable?
Thanks,
GL

Hi @U2CAMEB4ME
The screen didn't change. i.e. the video I posted with the fuzzy distortion was there before and after the flex test.
