Inspiron 17R SE 7720 Screen Replacement
Dear All,
I have an Inspiron 17R SE 7720 laptop with the 3D screen for about three year and in the last month the screen does not work anymore (When I power on the computer only give me 8 beeps and after looking up it look like the LCD is not working). After looking for spare parts I was not able to fine and 3D scrren replacement.
Can anyone tell me if is possible for me to change the 3D screen (1920 * 1080) to a non 3D standard (1920 * 1080) screen. Will this work or do I need to change the LCD cable as well.

I also have the very same question. When I replaced my screen with a non 3D screen , all i got was 3 beeps. I am procuring a non 3D lcd cable and going to try again

Changing from 3D to non-3D requires a replacement system board -- the boards are different in the display connector types.

Once I procure a non 3D LCD cable , I will attempt to connect. Hope the connector at the motherboard is matching.

I purchased a non 3D screen. The connector on both screens are 40 pin, and connexon
was easy, but on power up the screen remained blank, and there were 8 beeps.
Now I am procuring a non 3D screen cable, and I will post whether the connexon on the motherboard matches, and whether it works.
I also feel the motherboard will be different, in that the 3D screen runs at a 120Hz refresh rate. Non 3D screen runs at 60 Hz.

If memory serves, the non-3D screen is LVDS, while the 3D is eDP. The two may have the same connector, but they're electrically incompatible with each other -- the mainboards are indeed different.
