Inspiron 5491 WiFi Card Suddenly Stops

Hmmm that sounds frusterating having todo that each time wifi disappears however you will have to dig deeper as code 10 is a temporary error generated when device manager can't start the hardware device it indicates an unspecified problem you can try this

press the windows key +r and in the run box type devmgmt.msc in the window that opens look for network adapters and right click the wireless adapter and choose properties in the properties dialog choose the power managment tab and uncheck "allow this computer to disable this device to save energy" (or something like that) hope it helps.

Thank you so much for attempting to help. Yeah, funny enough, I did try that. No go. I had to reset the bios...again...last night, and the Wifi's working, for now. Next time it goes out on me, I'll try looking to see if event viewer has any errors, or  try sfc/scannow. I just hope the physical hardware's not going out on me.

This Can be a BIOS issue 

Kindly Try updating BIOS and disable Fast startup in windows power options 

you can disable it in just a few steps:

Right-click the Start button.

Yeah. I've reinstalled Windows a month ago after this started happening. No matter what I do, reinstall Windows, reinstall the drivers, nothing fixes it accept for resetting the bios, it works temporarily, and then stops. I can use an external wifi card in place of this, but that's it.

Uninstall Wi-Fi adapter driver from device manager by selecting delete driver option 

Then click scan for hardware changes option and then if it is shows back again repeat the uninstall steps once again ,
then shutdown laptop and disconnect power adapter, turn back on after  a few seconds and check if the error shows

if it shows the error again , uninstall driver by removing driver software again , then download the adapter driver from dell website using your service tag and install it and check 

if none of this works suggest to do a repair install windows 

 you can download windows 11/10  ISO to another computer connected to internet and copy that to the laptop in question to do repair install

Absolutely. The Wifi Card is the Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9560. The most recent hardware ID at the top is: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_02F0&SUBSYS_42348086&REV_00

Go to Device Manager.
Expand the Network Adapters category.
Right-click your Intel Wireless Adapter and choose to uninstall it.
Make sure to the option to Delete the driver software for this device is selected.
Repeat steps A through D until the the option to Delete the driver software for this device is greyed out.
2. Restart your computer.
Then download and install driver from intel website

No Problem at all, it's my pleasure to help, yes suggest to check the hardware part by calling Dell and you can mention the steps you have already done to isolate a driver issue 

Thank you. I've tried all of this before. The wifi is working right now, but I could keep an eye out for any error messages that pop up if that helps. The only way for me to fix is:

1. Delete the device in device manager (doesn't matter if I check the box that says delete the driver software for this device).

2. Restart the computer.

3. Press F2 while the Dell logo is displayed to enter the bios.

4. Choose load defaults, either by pressing alt+f or f9.

5. Press enter twice to restart.

5. After the computer restarts, Windows sees the device, installs it, and the Wifi works again for about a day or two.

Well, thank you for trying. What do you think I should do if the device stops working again, give Dell a call and see what they say? Should I point them to this topic?

No need to call dell for that when your laptop is booting at the dell logo repeatly press the F12 key to open the one time boot menu and choose diagnostics when the short test is done you can click stop choose advanced and select the wireless network adapter from the list of components when ePSA reports errors you are given an errorcode and a validation code with that you can lookup what the error means.

Hi. I tried bios update, delete adapter nothing worked. Finally did a OS reset. Resolved all the issue. My problem happened right after doing a system update from dell.
