Inspiron 5515 - Fingerprint sensor not working

Hello, 

I am a user of the Inspiron 5515 laptop and yesterday after updating the BIOS, the fingerprint sensor stopped working. The power button/fingerprint sensor can only switch on the laptop but is not able to put the laptop in sleep mode as I often used to do. Is this problem faced by other Inspiron 5515 users as well? Also, if someone could suggest what should I do to make it work it'll be really helpful
