Inspiron 7352: SSD Compatibility and Migrating an existing OS
Hello,
I would like to swap out the hard drive for a solid state drive (SSD) in my Inspiron 7352 laptop, specifically for the Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB (2.5") SSD. I have two questions that hopefully someone can answer.
- Is a Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB SSD compatible with an Inspiron 7352?
- I would like to have my existing Windows OS be on the new SSD for faster startup. Is there a way to migrate the OS from my hard drive to the SSD without additional costs?
I appreciate any information.

1. Yes, if it's a 2.5" drive, it will work.
2. You'll need a flash drive you can make bootable, plus a USB to SATA cable to allow both drives to be connected to the system at the same time, or you'll need an external hard drive with enough space to hold a complete system image, plus that flash drive to boot and restore the image. Macrium Reflect has a free version, so you won't need to buy software - -but you will need the aforementioned hardware to do the cloning.

Thank you for the prompt reply and for pointing me in the right direction.
Yes, the SSD I'm looking at is a 2.5", and I have a bootable flash drive and a USB to SATA cable. I'll check out Macrium Reflect now for the free version.
You rock!
