Inspiron 7400, cannot disable adaptive brightness in BIOS?
This laptop doesn´t have an option to disable adaptative brightness in UEFI bios, it´s a very annoying problem. I have another Dell 5502 with 11th gen and i have this option in bios, so please add it to the inspiron 7400.

@DELL-Cares , this issue persist in inspiron 3501 model as well. Just purchased yesterday and the working in battery mode is really annoying. The last known BIOS version 1.16 had Ecopower option available, pls talk to your tech support team and get the next BIOS release with Ecopower option ASAP. This is a known bug to Dell, hence this should be a quick fix only.

Adding my voice to this. The CABC is horrific and I cannot comprehend the mind of a person who would want it enabled. Clearly none of the product engineers actually used the Inspiron 7400. People have complained about CABC on Dell's forums for the better part of a decade, and yet Dell still shovels out new products with it enabled until the community outrage forces them to add an option to disable.
Is it really so hard to figure out that we don't want products with CABC? Or if some executive is getting bonuses contingent on number of laptops shipped with CABC, maybe you could pre-empt the outcry and have the option to disable in the BIOS at launch?

After near 3 months since i report this problem, today i have updated with the new bios v. 1.4.0 and... still no ecopower option in BIOS? So the screen is still making a party, changing brigthness while i´m using the battery.
2 options:
1- Lazy Dell engineers.
2- Incompetent support team didn´t translate the problem to the engineers.
I bet from option 2.

Dear All
I have the same exact problem in my Brand New Dell Inspiron 3501.I have updated the Graphics Drivers, Bios but there is no option to disable the adaptive brightness. It's annoying and terrible. I have been on chat support with one of the Dell Agents a few times and needless to say it was a complete time waste. They have no idea !
Get this fixed Dell !! This is not the user experience I would have liked and it was a costly purchase.

As Dell is doing nothing to solve this issue, It seems that Microsoft is going to solve that problem in future windows versions:
Improvements to Display Settings
Content adaptive brightness control (CABC) disabling: CABC helps improve battery performance on PCs, but with the trade-off of decreased image quality. It can result in distracting brightness changes that interfere in experiences where image quality is of high importance such as for creative professionals looking for color accuracy. The ability to turn CABC off has been a highly requested feature and Windows Insiders can now disable CABC directly in the Display settings via Settings > System > Display.

Just adding my voice to the discontent here - the CABC is actually quite an accessiblity issue, it makes it headache-inducing to look at the screen.
Didn't expect this nonsense with a brand new laptop - it'll have to go back if a fix isn't in the works, I can't use the machine like this; it is not fit for function.

Updated to the new Bios 1.6.1. Still no option to disable ecopower in Bios. Thanks Dell.
