Inspiron G7 17-7790, Fan Control with AWCC
Has Dell has implemented fan control with AWCC on the Inspiron G7 17-7790? I seem to remember hearing this at CES and have been watching and waiting to buy one in the config I want. But the lack of fan control through AWCC would be kind of a deal breaker.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, but it's terrible. The offered "fan controls" are presets and all of them don't allow you to have the fans constantly run. They sit idle until your CPU temp reaches 60 celsius or so; then they kick in. And this thing gets hot, even after I applied new thermal paste to both the CPU and GPU. The temperature in my room is 73F, my CPU gets waay too hot when gaming. Some cases up to 95C-99C which is unacceptable.
That is not the only issue I have. I am also experiencing terrible frame rates. It will be at 90-120 FPS, then drop down to 40 and 50 frames for a few seconds. Which causes horrible screen tearing and lag.Yes, I've tried correcting the issues but updating drivers, BIOS to the latest and greatest from Dell and also Nvidia's site, but had no luck. Even did a "Reset" in Windows 10 to reinstall the Operating System and have a clean setup but the problems still exist.
Unless you're going to disable Intel Turbo Boost to sacrifice performance even more so to keep temperatures down, use a program ThrottleStop to lock CPU cores so they don't fluctuate, and make other alterations to your settings, I would advise against getting this laptop...
My Build:
RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB GDDR6
16GB DDR4 2666MHz (1 module)
i7-8750H 2.20GHz (up to 4.1GHZ with Turbo Boost)
ADATA SX8200PNP (after market) & TOSHIBA MQ04ABF100

Do not buy this garbage laptop. I had to repaste the cpu with liquid metal and apply -.300/-.125 cpu/cache undervolt with throttlestop to lower the temperature and today the gpu fan is malfunctioning. Worst laptop ever
