@Petesponies
Yes most printers now a days are WiFi.
But most still can be connected using USB or RJ45. "Centronics went out a long time ago."
With that said you should have no problem printing with WiFi.

Welcome to the Dell Community @Petesponies
Its not our place to apologize for him so I won't.
Yes you will be able to connect to a printer.
I would recommend an HP Laserjet printer for Grayscale and light color printing.
I would recommend an HP/Cannon Inkjet printer for photo quality printing.
Best regards,
U2

Our confusion is . . this is all done wifi? So the printer is a wifi printer and all printing is done that way? I have always had printers attached by cable.

You can use a WiFi printer, or a USB printer - your choice; the system supports either.
For laser printers, Brother is tough to beat (and on a higher plane of reliability than HP, which has slipped from its previous status).
For inkjet printers, in photo printing, Canon is very strong. For everyday printing, Brother is equally strong in print quality and at about the same level of reliability. HP's recent inkjets are abject junk, and their driver support is sorely lacking - they've essentially outsourced the design, manufacture and support -- and it shows.

I would say that newer HP printers are not as reliable and lack the support of past.
That's why I prefer to use some older P3000 in the warehouse and the newest one is the Color LaserJet M553dn.
As far as being " abject junk, and their driver support is sorely lacking - they've essentially outsourced the design, manufacture and support" sounds like Dell laptops to me -- and it shows.
Best regards,
U2
NOTE:
In the long run toner can be cheaper than ink.

@Petesponies
You asked Can a printer be used with this laptop? can't find any information.
And the simple answer is Sure = Yes.
I can't read your mind.
If you want a printer recommendation, then say so!
Again, I can't read minds. I wish I could, but I can't.

@Petesponies
No place to plug in a printer?
How about say that you have no clue dealing with a modern laptop? ? ?
The old printer ports on laptops went away many years ago.
Your statement gives you no crediblity!
There are 3 USB ports that are on the 3168.

I never asked for a printer recommendation. But I knew nothing about how a printer, of any type, could be used. There was no place to plug a cord.
