Insprion 15 5000 won't wake up

On Monday this week I bought a new Inspiron 15 5000. I have been installing software. I notice immediately that there is no power button or a button with the on/off symbol. The computer turns on when the lid is opened.

This afternoon I closed the lid without shutting down windows. This evening I opened the lid but the screen remains black. I have moved the mouse, hit enter, swiped the touch pad, hit all of the function keys, but it remains asleep.

Everything that I found on the web talked about holding down the power button. But I a mention, there is no power button.

How do I make it wake up?

Not sure if this query remains unresolved, as it appears on the site.

I have also bought a new Inspirion 15 5000 series laptop. Cannot find any power on off or sleep buttons/ keys on the system. System wakes up automatically on opening the lid, how to override it? How does this work if one does not wish to have lid open with power off?

Power the computer On and press the F2 key at the Dell logo to enter the BIOS. Once in the BIOS, click the plus to the left of Power Management. Then Select USB Wake Support, check the box to Enable USB Wake Support.

I have the same issue. When my laptop goes to sleep, to awaken it I have to hard boot it to get it working again. Very frustrating if you've left the room for 10 mins and got a meeting !
