Intel 10th Generation in Gaming Laptops Release Date
With the release of the 10th Gen Intel processors, when the gaming laptops such as the G7 which I'm interested in to buy will have the new processors? I know the XPS series have the new processors but I'm still wondering when it's gonna come to the gaming laptop series. Other companies such as MSI and ASUS already have it so i'm waiting for it. And I'm planning to a buy a new laptop by June this year if the COVID-19 hasn't stop shipping routes or having lockdowns in other countries. Oh yes i forgot, I order my laptops from the Singapore branch.

@Shine123 Right now only the XPS 13 has the new 10th Gen CPUs. The XPS 15 is still on 9th Gen. Rumor is that a completely redesigned XPS 15 will launch in April or May, but I’m not sure about specs. However, it’s important to note that the XPS 13 and 15 use completely different CPU lines. The XPS 13 uses 15W CPUs, and those are the ones where 10th Gen was a major jump with the switch to the new Ice Lake architecture, which came with a die shrink to 10nm and a brand new GPU — except that there’s also a line of 15W 10th Gen CPUs that just use a minor refresh of the previous architecture, because Intel just had to make their lineup even more confusing. But systems like the XPS 15 and G7 would use Intel’s 45W CPUs that traditionally have an H at the end of their model names, and the 10th Gen versions of those will not include a die shrink or the new GPU. It’s just going to be yet another refresh of the architecture that was first introduced with Core 5th Gen (Broadwell). So by all means hold off on a purchase if you’re not in a hurry, but I personally wouldn’t consider a new CPU essential to wait for on that system. Of course the new model’s GPU might be another matter.
