Laptop shuts down right after powering up

Question

Hi I have a Dell Inspiron 15-5577 laptop.

It was working fine yesterday.

Today I press power on and I can hear everything start up then it automatically shuts off after a second

ive removed the hard drive, battery and Ram. When I press power on it stays on but screen remains black.

I added everything 1 by 1. When I add the RAM it auto shuts off after a second. So I put a working RAM in the slot which is compatible, now it auto shuts off after 5 seconds instead of 1

Can someone help me please?

You computer's battery may be experiencing problems if your computer boots up but shuts down shortly after booting up. The battery may not be holding a charge properly because the battery is old, the battery charger may be damaged or the DC jack on your laptop may not function properly. If your laptop's battery is more than a few years old, it's likely that the battery is losing the ability to fully recharge and may need to be replaced or plugged in all of the time. If your charger is damaged, you can replace the charger with a new one from the manufacturer. If the power connector jack on your laptop isn't working properly, the plug for your charger will keep slipping out. This won't allow the battery to recharge and you'll need to have it repaired to stop the problem.

I've tried it without the battery and the problem happens.

Also if I take out the RAM stick then it doesn't shut down, it will stay on but only show a black screen. This makes me think it isnt a power or battery issue

The question:  with no RAM installed, do you hear a two beep error or see an LED flash code? If you don't, the mainboard is toast.

yup flashes amber twice and white 3 times, which I found out means no ram

If you had one module, it may have gone bad.

If you had two modules, the overwhelming odds are that both modules aren't bad -- it's the system board that's the faulty part. The odds of two modules going bad simultaneously are far lower than that the system board has failed.
