MS5120W wireless mouse, Dell peripheral manager are not usable
Hey.
I recently bought Dell mobile Pro wireless mouse (MS5120W). I'm on latest Windows 10. Worst experience ever, it's useless.
To bind hotkeys/actions to additional mouse keys you need to install software called Dell Peripheral Manager.
Binding keys is the only thing I need and would expect from this software.
But, unfortunately, this software goes with additional, non-switchable "useful functionality". It includes on screen notifications when you press keyboard toggle keys, for example caps lock.
The problem is, that because of poor implementation, when you press one of this toggle keys being in some games (Fallout, TES), this notifications forcefully minimize your game window and kick you to your desktop.
It's double checked that Dell Peripheral Manager and it's notifications are responsible for this problem. When this software is not running, problem is not observable. But in this case, all mouse key binding obviously not working and this mouse become useless.
Notification functionality is hardcoded and can't be switched off. Being software developer myself, I believe such implementation is a shame.
And I'm unable to even open support ticket for this problem. Support page ask me for "service tag", which is "usually located on the back or bottom of your device". There are not any id on the back or the bottom of this item. I don't know, maybe I need to completely disassemble this mouse to find this tag.
Resume: Not usable mouse, poor software and no support.

Post your review elsewhere.
This forum is for Inspiron laptops.

Happens on Dell Inspiron 16+, so it's relevant.
Very annoying.
