Max ram clock for dell 15 7000

I am interested in buying Kingstone Hyper-x rams, but they are clocked at 2400mhz, which I am sure of the compatibility and I have seen tempting memories with an incredible clock speed of 3200hmz. will those with a higher clock speed work in my laptop model. both ddr4 with the same slot. Please advise.

Anything faster than what you have now will simply downclock to the existing RAM speed.  The CPU controls the memory speed.

Also note that HyperX (and other gaming RAM) is designed for systems with adjustable memory parameters and for overclocking.  Your system has provisions for neither of those, and high performance RAM has a bad track record in Dell systems -- even more so in economy systems (Inspiron, Vostro, etc.).

I bought a second hand Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop. When I tested on purchase task manager showed 3200mhz 8GB this was am sure original spec. On support assist I stupidly updated bios and now runs at 2400mhz.. laptop was shipped with 3200mhz. I have made enquiries to Dell but will not admit to down clocking ram within bios and have come to a dead end. I can only assume there were problems with overheating so bios ram was locked to a lower speed. WISH I had taken images of original bios version and task manager.. definitely was running 3200mhz why else would they put this ram in from stock.. because I wasn’t original purchaser things stopped there. Come on Dell admit you have done this.. Thought I was going Mad but am sure It was and spent a lot of time researching but never had an apology or workaround.. just advised mboard and cpu only accommodate 2400 although crucial advise 3200.. Wish I never messed with bios now!!! And didn’t waste money on 16GB 3200 setup.. PLEASE ADMIT YOUR product was faulty and changed bios to accommodate..

What specific model system (Inspiron 3501, 3593) and which CPU does it have (i.e., i3-1005G1, etc.) does it have?
