Mouse buttons inoperable for 10 seconds after idle
Inspiron 15 3511
Inspiron 15 3511 laptop running latest Win11 build, all drivers current. When the computer sits idle for about 30 minutes (display and processor power options shutdown set to never), I can move the mouse pointer, but neither mouse button works for about 10 seconds (can't click on any icons). The keyboard, however, does work. After about 10 seconds, everything runs flawlessly until the next time I go away from the computer for 30 minutes. Note that the same behavior is seen if I try to use the built-in touchpad instead of the mouse.
I have let performance monitor run in the background and in the few minutes before I try after the idle period, processing resources are always less then 5%. I have tried a different mouse, different USB port, different power options, the sfc/scannow stuff, a BIOS downgrade, removal of Windows "widgets," and every setting I can think of (e.g. not allowing the system to power down the mouse to save power).
Any ideas???.
