My SSD doesn't appear in file explorer!

Question

Hi, I've a Dell Inspiron 3580 laptop with 1TB Hard Disk and Windows 10,
I bought an nvme m.2 SSD 250 GB, and I assembled it in the laptop, but the SSD didn't appear in the file explorer, neither in the disk management..

I tried restart the laptop several times and it doesn't work, and I tried pressing F2 to enter BIOS options and I found the SSD there...

So, what's the solution guys?

The drive needs to be partitioned and formatted before Windows will see it (link below).

It would be better to install Windows to the SSD and run it from there - either with a clean install (REMOVE THE ORIGINAL DRIVE FIRST) or by cloning (REMOVE the original drive before first boot!).

Obsolete storage controller drivers can also be the culprit here and you should get them updated to their latest versions available. Most people don’t need to do it if they don’t have any issues, however, as you’re facing issues with your SSD not showing up, it’s worth updating the drivers  to see if it resolves the problem for you. Use the Cortana search to search for and open Device Manager.   Expand the Storage controllers option, select your controller, right-click on it, and choose Update driver.   If you don’t already have the drivers for your storage controller, select Search automatically for updated driver software.   Reboot your computer when the new drivers are installed.
