You may either need to replace the battery or recalibrate it if possible, because it's possible if your battery says perfect health and your battery isn't even charging, something could be wrong with the battery or calibration itself. It could also be the adapter. First check to see if you have a bad adapter. If you have another Dell, plug it in and see if it charges. If not then it's the adapter, if it does however then the adapter should be good.

To calibrate the battery or recalibrate it you can open the laptop bottom and unplug the battery then press the power button with the battery unplugged for 20 seconds, then plug the battery back in and that should drain any residual power, then once the computer starts back up (takes up to a minutes or two), you can plug the adapter back in and see if it is charging, and if not then you will need a new battery. That's the best three step solution I can offer you. I hope it works, and I hope you get your computer fixed.

Is the replacement a genuine Dell battery? Non-Dell batteries may not work properly. You may need a new Dell battery.

Check if the light is lit at the plug end of the AC adapter or on the adapter block. And see if that light remains lit when you plug it into the laptop's jack. If the AC adapter's light goes dark when you plug it into the laptop, then the fault is likely with the jack or the charging circuit.

Is it a genuine Dell AC adapter? Hold F2 while booting, to enter BIOS. See if the AC adapter is recognized and shows its wattage.

Try a reset:

  1. Disconnect all peripherals: printers; USB devices; media cards; USB hubs and extenders; etc.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  3. Disconnect the battery.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to discharge any residual electricity.
  5. Reconnect the battery
  6. Reconnect the AC adapter
  7. Reboot the laptop.

If it is a Dell battery, test it:

Open an Administrator CMD prompt (CMD, run as Administrator).
Paste this command, and then press Enter:
powercfg /batteryreport

That will show a figure for the designed battery capacity (when new) and the current capacity.

Run Dell Diagnostics:
Immediately after pressing the power button to turn on the laptop (or after clicking the Reboot command), press F12 repeatedly to enter the One Time Boot Menu, select Diagnostics and press Enter. The Dell Diagnostics will test all your hardware.

Whenever touching components or working inside a computer, wear a grounded wrist strap, also called anti-static wrist strap, ESD wrist strap, or ground bracelet. It's a cheap and sensible precaution. Rest the laptop on an anti-static mat or at least a reasonable alternative such as corrugated cardboard. (Repeatedly touching a metal case part is not sufficient mitigation with modern components.)

Run Dell Diagnostics:

4. Tested - Hardware no issue.

Well you can try these two things, i am sure that it will definitely help you-

  1. Update the BIOS. Dell often releases BIOS updates that can fix battery-related issues. You can check for BIOS updates on the Dell support website.
  2. Calibrate the battery. Calibrating the battery can help to improve its charging performance. You can find instructions on how to calibrate the battery in the Dell support documentation.

If you have tried these steps and your battery is still not charging, then it is likely that the battery is defective. You will need to contact Dell to request a replacement battery.

1, Actually, I have drained the battery myself after reading a solution posting at the forum BUT not working.

That's why the battery is zero.

2. I could not download the BIOS update because the requirement is 10% battery balance is needed.

- I changed back to the old battery and it was charging. I charged the old battery to 90% to meet the 10% requirement. With that, I could download to update the New Bios.

- However, nothing change after replaced with the new battery, Of course, I also followed the instructions as posted by the members,

BTW, the old battery was defective according to the local Dell service shop's Technician.  So, I bought a new one, Unfortunately not working,

So, here is my final conclusion. That the culprit to all this issue is the BATTREY. Therefore, I accepted the first post as the final solution.

Thank you

Have a great day
