Performance issue with inspiron 5580
I bought inspiron 5580 laptop. Eversince I started using it I am facing the slow performance issue. Slow in the sense it is dead slow. One clicking file explorer it reacts only after a minute after continuosly loading even though there are no ongoing apps running. However I have identified the reason for it one and half year ago and it is due to 100 percent disk performance. I have reported dell support on this more than 100 times and numerous calls were doen already. But none has resolved my issue. Lastly they have asked me to purchase ssd for it. So, then why didnt you inform me about this while I was purchasing my laptop. And I have been asked to do diagnostics when I attend every call and all of them report only one thing that there is no issue with my laptop. Just use my laptop for an hour and you will get to know how much patience one should have to use it. I dont know how come I have invested 60K on that thing which is useful for nothing.

Given that the system is over 3 years old, it may simply need maintenance - a thorough cleanout will help, along with replacement of the heatsink pads.
You should also run a full diagnostic on the system to verify the hardware integrity - F12 at powerup.
It is true that Windows 10 doesn't work well from a hard drive, but the answer to your question is likely that the only thing you did ask about at purchase was the price -- since SSDs are more expensive than hard drives, there were (and are) still some system sold to buyers for whom cost is the primary consideration. These include the lowest cost components -- and with storage that means spinning hard drives.
Yes, replacing the hard drive with an SSD will help immensely.
