RESET LAPTOP FIREWALL

Ok after I reset  my laptop,  now having issues with FIREWALL. Yes it was due  for update but now I can't  update  anything  without  needing  to sign. Online.  Is there way to shut off FIREWALL  until you updated  FIREWALL.
