Right to information
I have got a battery failure in my system which is now a month old.
Dell has confirmed for replacement which is fine by me.
But, I have't got any details regarding the
battery serial number and PPID through which I can verify on receiving the battery, that it is the same one which the DELL intended to send for replacement.
Neither they have provided the infromation that the battery dispatched is a
completely new one or refurbhished one.
Nor they provide me with name of the technician which they intend to send neither can I access such information online.
When I asked Dell Senior Escalation team regarding this they told me that "
We regret as we will not be able to share Dell part number/Serial number as this is internal to Dell and Dell use only".
Is it normal?
I think I have the right to know these details but these guys aren't ready to disclose those details.

Update: Now I have received a mail from advanced resolution team that they will share the detail to me.
Moral: When you escalate the issue to higher level authorities, then only you are gievn the service, the way it should be provided

No, it is not fine. We customers must be made aware of the part numbers sent for replacement and the technician will replace the battery at my place.
